Microsoft announced on January 16 a series of news related to its generative artificial intelligence solutions . Let's start with Copilot Pro, a premium subscription for everyone that brings Copilot's generative AI capabilities to Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers and additional features such as the ability to develop custom GPT copilots . Also announced was the general availability of the Copilot app for iOS and Android . Finally, Copilot for Microsoft 365 is now accessible to more and more businesses, even the smallest.
Copilot Pro, features
Microsoft announced the availability of Copilot Pro , a new premium subscription that brings the most advanced features and capabilities of Microsoft Copilot to people who want to improve their experience with generative AI. Through Copilot Pro, it is possible to benefit from advanced support for content development, such as writing or design, for research and coding activities, thus providing users with the opportunity to improve their creativity and their productivity.
Copilot Pro provides:
- A unified AI experience that works across devices, understanding context across web, PC, apps and soon your phone, to deliver the right skills when you need them.
- Access to Copilot in Word, Excel (currently in preview and English only), PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote on PC, Mac and iPad for Microsoft 365 Personal and Home subscribers.
- Priority access to the latest models such as GPT-4 Turbo by OpenAI. With Copilot Pro, you can have access to GPT-4 Turbo during busy work hours for faster performance and, soon, the ability to switch between models to further personalize the experience.
- Improvements to the AI image creation process, thanks to Image Creator by Designer (formerly Bing Image Creator), which guarantees greater speed and even more detailed image quality, in addition to the horizontal format.
- The ability to develop your own Copilot GPT – a personalized Copilot, tailored to a specific topic – in the new Copilot GPT Builder (coming soon) with a simple set of instructions.

Copilot for Microsoft 365
Copilot for Microsoft 365 is now available for organizations of all sizes , with no minimum number of users. Microsoft works with its partner ecosystem to help any type of organization, even the smallest, seize the opportunities of generative AI.
Updates announced today include:
- Copilot for Microsoft 365 is now available for small businesses as part of the Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Standard plans. Customers can purchase from 1 to 299 users at a price of $30 per month per person.
- Microsoft is removing the 300 user minimum threshold for businesses and moving forward with the availability of Copilot for Office 365 E3 and E5 customers (previously a Microsoft 365 license was required).
- Any commercial customer can now also purchase Copilot for Microsoft 365 through the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider partner ecosystem.
- Microsoft also announced Copilot's eligibility for Microsoft 365 for Educators and Education.
Trained on all your business data, including email, meetings, chats, documents, and web, Copilot for Microsoft 365 helps you dramatically reduce the time spent on routine, low-value tasks with natural language queries, such as meeting summaries on Teams or analyzing large amounts of data in Excel. While respecting security, privacy and compliance requirements as well as Microsoft's adoption of customer copyright commitments.

New Copilot features
Finally, Microsoft announced new Copilot features, with the aim of revolutionizing productivity and creativity, thanks to artificial intelligence.
- GPT Copilot – allows you to customize the behavior of Microsoft Copilot on a specific topic of particular interest to the user. Announcing the availability of a selection of Copilot GPTs specific for fitness, travel and cooking purposes. Soon, Copilot Pro users will also be able to create their own Copilot GPTs via Copilot GPT Builder.
- The Copilot mobile app – now available for Android and iOS. The Copilot app brings the power of Copilot on the go, with queries and chat available on smartphones and PCs. The Copilot mobile app includes the same features as Copilot on your PC, including access to GPT-4, Dall-E 3 to create images, and the ability to use images from your phone when chatting with Copilot. The app is available on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
- Copilot in the Microsoft 365 mobile app – Microsoft has also integrated Copilot into the Microsoft 365 mobile app for Android and iOS for people with a Microsoft account. This new feature will be available over the next month. You can access Copilot directly in the application and easily export the created content to a Word or PDF document. The first innovation projects related to Microsoft 365 Copilot are underway in Italy: A2A, CNH Industrial, Iveco Group, MAIRE, Nexi and Saipem are the first companies to introduce generative AI into their processes and workflows.
